Bungee jumping with a shunt involves a person with a medical condition called hydrocephalus, which is a buildup of fluid in the brain, using a shunt to regulate the fluid flow. The shunt is a device that helps drain excess fluid from the brain to another part of the body where it can be absorbed. When bungee jumping, the shunt remains in place and continues to function normally, allowing the person to safely enjoy the thrill of the jump without any adverse effects on their condition. It is important for individuals with a shunt to consult with their healthcare provider before engaging in any high-impact activities like bungee jumping to ensure it is safe for them. **

In a bungee jump with a shunt, a shunt is a secondary cord attached to the jumper's harness. This cord is designed to activate once the primary bungee cord has reached its maximum stretch, preventing the jumper from hitting the ground. The shunt slows down the jumper's descent gradually, providing a controlled and safe landing. This system adds an extra layer of safety to the bungee jump by ensuring that the jumper does not experience a sudden stop at the end of the jump. **
